K.yairi BL-150K 2009

Japan’s leading acoustic guitar maker K. Yairi. Among the acoustic guitar makers that were crowded like bamboo shoots after the rain in the 70’s, it is still a top-class acoustic guitar maker in both name and reality that is still active on the front lines. There are many long-standing specialty models such as the YW series and DY series in K. Yairi, but this time the arrival is the BL-150K of the angel series. The Angel series has been around since the 90’s and is now a popular series at the heart of Yairi!

Solid spruce TOP, special core (laminate) SIDE & BACK, mahogany NECK, ebony fretboard & bridge, measured 43.3mm nut, 645mm scale BL body. The BL body has a body width of about 16 inches, which is about the size of a dreadnought, but it has a narrow waist and a slightly thinner body that makes it easy to hold, and it is a body style that harmonizes sound volume and playability well. Keisuke Kuwata’s model is also this BL size! SIDE & BACK is the core, but it also has a gorgeous appearance that can be taken as the natural finish of Keisuke Kuwata’s model, such as the luxurious position mark and Avalon Trim & Rosetta!

The sound is a refreshing sound that seems to be Yairi! A clean sustain is added to the responsive and grainy sound, creating a voluminous sound. Since SIDE & BACK is the core, it is not as heavy as rosewood, and it has a crispy sound and a stronger edge than mahogany. Squeeze with a flat pick for a refreshing, mellow, voluminous sound with a edgy sound, and pluck with your fingers for a clear, clear sound with good graininess. Depending on the genre and play style, you will be able to enjoy a straightforward and transparent sound that is not disliked like a fingernail!

The condition of the instrument is as good as new with almost no evidence of use! The frets have a few traces of strings, so it’s unlikely that you didn’t play them at all, but there are no scratches. Even if you hold it over the light and look around, there are no picking marks on the transparent PG, and it is almost in the same state as when it was new. There is no thread on the body and back, and even if it is said to be new, it maintains a wonderful condition without any discomfort!

The neck condition is also good and straight, and the current string height is 2.2 mm on the 6th string side and 1.8 mm on the 1st string side on the 12th fret, making it very easy to play. There is still room in the saddle, so you can make further fine adjustments to the string height. The frets have only a few traces of strings on the low frets, and the height of about 90% of the original remains even in the place where it is most reduced.
